A shorter week than usual for us here at Record Mania due to Midsummer's Eve on Friday being what's probably the most closed holiday in Sweden. We try to disregard as many holidays as possible, but on Midsummer's Eve we would probably just have one customer come to the store (you know who you are!).
So this weekly update comes one day early, and even though we've had one day less to spice up the weekly additions I think we've managed to make something good out of this week anyway.
A bunch of new interesting releases has shown up recently, like the Michael Boothman 12" and a re-stock of the massive (both musically and literally) Soundway Kenya Special compilation. A new supply of Numero Group's Good God - Apocryphal Hymns compilation also came in, and the fresh sounding and very limited Jonas Kullhammar records A Love Supreme and Svenska Kaputt are almost completely sold out. Numero's fascinating reissue of loner gospel opus by Otis G Johnson is also soon to be gone, so don't miss out!
Also just in is Analog Africa's Orchestre Poly-Rythmo De Cotonou - Volume 3 - The Skeletal Essences Of Afro Funk 1969-1980 and the previously unreleased soundtrack to filthy Swedish 70's movie Vill Så Gärna Tro with music by Johnny Nash, Bob Marley and Anthony "Reebop", complete with interesting liner notes and photos of where Marley supposedly lived for 9 months (a dirty boiler room in a Bromma basement). Short summary of the movie: Flight attendant falls in love with her jazz ballet teacher. He gets drafted into the army.

It's been a long time since we had this LP by Thai funk group who toured and recorded this in Sweden.
Superb Lee Perry-produced afro-inspired reggae. Heavy Black Ark sound!
